Creature Concepts for the fantastical world of Arcanspire

An Illustrated Guide to Arcanspire

A guide to the diverse life forms in the world of Arcanspire, hand bound into one convenient book for you to take on your journey.

Bellowsnout

The low-frequency calls of Bellowsnout herds echo across the treetops as they feed off the highest branches in the mighty forests of Arcanspire, brought forth by the bone crests on their heads. Their six limbs allow for easy navigation of the uneven forest floor.

Glassblower Toad

A rare example of a self-heating amphibian, the Glassblower Toad ingests sand, which is stored in the glowing sack on its back, heated until vitrified, then spat up as a projectile to encase its unfortunate victim in a droplet of glass.

Arcseeker Hound

Clever and patient hunters, Arcseeker Hounds sense electrical signals from nearby creatures' brains and can track their pattern. The hunt is completed by a powerful shock emanating from its front paws. This particular Hound is named Tallulah.

Plated Ixril

A plains-dwelling creature well adapted to the dangers of living out in the open, the Plated Ixril is protected by tough plating and a constant defensive posture. Domesticated Ixril are kept as dairy animals, but are still allowed a great deal of open space to roam.

Whirler Bug

The peculiar Whirler Bug collects pollen in scavenged seed caps, dusting the plants on its route back to its hive. Its wing positioning allows for vertical takeoff, but renders it completely incapable of turning its head.

Masked Primizon

Making their home in the high branches of Arcanspire's towering forests, colonies of Masked Primizons collect fruit and insects to bring back to their families. As the closest evolutionary link to Arcanspire's human population, they have been the subject of extensive study.
